There's a place in HELL for blood-suckers like you!!

5 Minutes To Midnight

I am done. Finally. After countless suicide attempts. My very first print ad. Its a tutorial assignments actually.
Product: Woods' Peppermint Lozenges
Spent hours trying to hunt down one packet. Conveniently, cyber ran out of Woods' for the day so i had to "borrow" a packet from Win. And conveniently, all scanners were not working. So I had to take a snapshot of the packet with a camera instead. Spent an hour on creative brief. Editing took about an hour. Maybe less. So this was done in a day.
Enjoy.

We Still Kill The Old Way
-Lost Prophets-

"What do you think an artist thinks about?
Do you think he thinks about fine wines or black tie affairs or what you're going to say at the next after-dinner speech?
No, he lives only for that narcotic moment of creative bliss.
A moment that may come once a decade, or never at all.
"
Stole that from Karen. No arguments there.

Blank.
Very much like a piece of white paper. No dots. No lines. Nothing. I'm stuck.
You know the kind of feeling u get when u r stuck.
When u r so frigging desperate for idea but u r stuck.
Your body is telling u to lie down.
Your eyes are telling you to look away from the computer screen.
But your mind is telling u to MOVE!!
My advertising lecturers call it incubation.
I call it total blurness.
Sitting here waiting to be "illuminated".

V.O.I.C.E.S

Trying to keep my blog and myself alive at the same time is difficult.
Wednesdays are suppose to be the days where I catch up on assignments and all the reading and the day where I do my laundry.
But today, there was this whole BIG plan.
The plan was:
To be a patriotic Malaysian and go to uni just to attend the Patriotic Carnival.
So I woke up to the sound of my handphone. It was Chrystin.
Chrystin says, "Good morning Malaysian!! Where are you?"
For awhile I was blur and I was thinking...that was one weird message.
Then I went back to bed. Half an hour later I woke up and realise I was late for the carnival and I was gonna miss the Negaraku singing part. By the time I got to uni it was 11 and the carnival started almost one whole hour ago.
Lish said, "So much for being patriotic eh, Malaysian??"
I smiled. Haha...
So yea, I missed the Negaraku singing. Its been reli long since we actually sang the Negaraku. And according Chrystin, I wasn't the most patriotic one there coz there was a guy who sang the Negaraku dengan penuh semangat...and he wasn't late. But anyway, I didn't miss the ikrar. And I got my finger prints on the Malaysia flag so it was okie =)

My fingers...with paint...like duh.

The Malaysia flag with thousands and thousands of fingerprints. Couldn't get the pic of the whole flag tho.

Dato' Ong Tee Keat and Tan Sri waiting for their turn to "paint" the flag.

So after the performances and stuffs like that, we had the rest of the day off. So went to catch Rush Hour 3. Was feeling a lil guilty to abandon my assignment but heck, watching movies and writing reviews are part of our assigments...haha. The movie was err...well just ok. I still think we should've went for rat.a.too.ee =)
Its been a long day but at least I don't hafta worry bout my presentation anymore. All the best to u guys presenting tmrw *evil laugh*

The Great Escape
-Go listen to Boys Like Girls...recommended!!-

Phew...presentation 1 over!! Was friggin nervous when I was called to present in a class full of total strangers but hey...back then in school it was a much bigger crowd kan? But yea, I was shaking uncontrollably...nervous..was probably because its the first presentation after a long break. I was praying that I wouldn't be called too early coz I was not entirely prepared but someweher in my head I wanna make sure I get it done today instead of having to worry bout it till Thursday. So I was the second last presenter of the day. And I am currently suffering from lack of sleep. One down....err hundreds more to go..??

Happy Together

Am grossed out by this movie I just watched: Imagine Me And You...recommended by a fren. It was an ok movie to kill time. Love the accent and the song at the end...hehe...it makes me feel so happy-ish..until I turn and see my assignment piling up :(

Imagine me and you, i do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together
If i should call you up, invest a dime
And you'd say you belong to me, i'd lose my mind
Imagine how the world could be so very fine
So happy together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies will be blue
For all my life
Me and you, and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

Memories

You know how somtimes the most inexpensive food brings back some reli good memories.
And heres my list of good, memoble food.

1) Good old McDonalds.
It was the best place to hang out with frens after school. The gossips, the so called "revisions", the so called "brain-storming sessions" and the "dates". So many reasons to stop by after school. They have the best nuggets and fries there. Even better if u dip the hot fries into their vanilla ice-cream :)

2) Fatman Steamboat....under the rain. Period.

3) Carl's Jr
They have the best burger!! They are not exactly inexpensive but its ok to go there occa sionally. But I make sure I bring someone along to share my burger coz I can't seem to finish it most of the time. Yes, I'm tofu...

4) Popcorn...its only good at certain cinemas.

5) The spicy pan-mee somewhere in Chow Kit.
My bunch of colleagues used to sneak out for lunch early n drive all the way to Chow Kit for this pan-mee. Put this in your "1000 foods to eat before I die" list.

6) Secret Recipe's Chocolate Indulgence

7) Baskin-Robbin's ice-cream

8) Tofu Bakar.

Very inexpensive. In fact, its only 50 cents per piece. Fried tofu stuffed with cucumber and dried squid with chili sauce and prawn paste. I don't normally know wat they put in my food but this was wat my mum told me..haha. The only reason why go to the pasar malam with my mum.

9) Taiwanese Sausage...they dun speak mandarin.

10) Chris' fried-chicken.

They are memorable for some reason. It shows how lousy of a cook he is...rofl.

11) Potato wedges and cincau drinks.

Not the one in Kfc but the one in the school canteen. There's a long line of poeple waiting for the wedges everyday coz it was actually reli good. The prefects used to buy losta wedges and cincau and share and we talk n talk n talk....

12) MnMs

13) Soya bean

14) Teh-O ice at the mamak stall.

The list stops here coz I can't seem to remember heh.

And my list of "bad" food:

None.

There isn't a list. Its just one food.

Lay's potato chips.

Never fails to give me ulcer.

Busy-ness
I'm so busy I hardly have the time to sit in front of the comp to post.
Its only been a week of classses and it's already driving me up the wall.
Studying lecture notes before lecture, completing all my drawings on Mr bong's notes coz otherwise he'll say I haven't been "visualising", preparing for Gary's class n tutorial coz I can't afford to be bullsh*ting in Gary's class coz he's way to smart for our crap!!, preparing For Global Ad's tutorial or I'll end up speechless during discussion, preparing for our mid term project (4 weeks away!!) 3 print ads and taking pictures for our exhibition....OMG so much to do, so little time, so many sleepless nites!!
Praying so so hard I'll do well this sem. 16 weeks is not so long afterall.
*I hate it when u ignore me. I'd rather have u around being annoying.

Heroes
There was the series:
Heroes
There was the band...i mean group..:
Gym Class Heroes
There were songs....good ones:
Working Class Heores
Underclass Heroes
Then there were two heroes called zee n win n they call themselves the Ad Class Heroes.
Perfect attendance so far hahaha...
OMG I'm lame.
I saw transformers!! Its was so cool!! I know, I'm a bit too slow. Was about to give up watching it in the cinema but Jo insisted that its a must watch. So we went to queue up anyway tho the line was friggin long. It was so packed we got the front row seat. But it was worth the pain in the neck =)

Hmm....
Went to class this afternoon in a totally wrong mode. Could be the lack of sleep. I got of the bus and headed off to the plaza without even checking my watch. Sat and started chatting away with Rach without even realising I was late for my first copywriting class.
Well, er was only 7 minutes. Lecturers have the reputation of being late for class but little did I know I'm about to stumble into a lecturer of a totally different species.
Thankfully I bumped into Win on my way to class.
Steped into the class to be staring at an animated bald guy with his hands held out ready to shake mine asking if I'm from Thailand.
Wth??...
Mental note to self: This guy is whack. Avoid eye contact n juz nod at everything he says even if he's not making any sense.
But towards the end of the class, I must say I've enjoyed his class very very much. His a gay, french writer who uses the f word in almost every sentence and he thinks Win is sexy...yes, u can all laugh out loud...lmao.
But no, that's not what makes his class interesting. His class involves discussion on serious topics which we can all use as our material to write.
Today's discussion was about racism n how our society tends to label foreigners. And it was one hell of a funny discussion. Despite having Africans and Arabians in the class, everyone was pretty broad-minded. Its was nice to see an Arabian actually conversing with an Iranian...in a proper manner =)
It seems that we as writers for the media has the power to change the way our society think so we ourselves shouldn't be sceptical or bias.
I foresee a very interesting semester!!
Oh did I mention that we'll be learning a little photography too? And at the end of the semester, we'll be participating in an exhibition and the proposed theme: What do u see? Cool eh?
I told my mum on the fone today that I dun think I'll regret not majoring in PR muahaha.
