Rain on me
...not! Yet it did. I was soaked, drenched, felt like I was immersed in a whole pool of water 3 blardy days in a row! What is this some kind of joke?! The sun was shining like my lecturer’s shoes from too much of polishing one minute and the next, it’s a torrential downpour *faints*. And it has to happen the exact moment I step onto the bus to get home. Consequently, I suffer my second flu attack of the month.

And my laundry won’t dry. Cause the sun was shy. And I am running out of clothes to wear. I’m gonna have to ask Aaron to donate me some tshirt lah. Oh, speaking of which, check out Testify Wear. The sight of the website banner reminded me of a conversation with Jackee proclaiming myself a Converse fan. The next thing I know, my Converse, along with my entire self was soaked. *points upwards* Blame the rain! I’ve been spending the past 2 nights blow drying my Converse. Guess what I’ll be doing tonight?

I Turn My Camera On

Am just gonna write about random stuffs because brains cannot seem to get them all properly organized.

Hands are still aching from the two days healing rally. Have never been so excited about church before. Everyone was talking bout it for over a week and I was very close to not being able to make it as exams were scheduled. After much persuasion, I went and brought Josephine along. Needless to say, I did not study for any of the mid-term papers *fingers crossed*. But healing rally was a blast. So, no complaints there. Am also recovering from flu which I suspect came from Alex. Thanxfor the hug. But no thanx for the flu. He was super whooper excited after healing rally he ran around hugging people. Now you see, that’s what healing do to people.

We’ve started our shooting on an anti-smoking campaign. And I now smell like cigarette *yuck*. I didn’t know in order to stop people from smoking; we had to compromise our own health. We had to capture a full footage of cigarette burning away in a dark room. So there we were, in a confined space shooting cigarettes burn away, one after another, trying to get proper angle, lighting..etc *faints* Am thankful we’re done with that particular scene. We’ve got a long way to go before going into the lab for editing an all. So level of stress is currently rising. The thought of semester break approaching is just making it worse, because instead of a well-deserved holiday, we’ll be stuck in the lab editing and rushing on other reports and written assignments…u get the idea lah. The life of a student is THAT exhilarating.

Am really looking forward to Life Club and SNL this weekend for some good laugh and good company. All the wrong reasons. But it’s the only time we get to have some fun. *Yawns* Excuse me while I go get some sleep. Am sleep deprived and some props are waiting to get painted. Yes, I paint too.

I began many years ago, as so many young men do, in searching for the perfect woman. I believed that if I looked long enough, and hard enough, I would find her and then I would be secure for life.
Well, the years and romances came and went, and I eventually ended up settling for someone a lot less than my idea of perfection.
But one day, after many years together, I lay there on our bed recovering from a slight illness. My wife was sitting on a chair next to the bed, humming softly and watching the late afternoon sun filtering through the trees. The only sounds to be heard elsewhere were the clock ticking, the kettle downstairs starting to boil, and an occasional schoolchild passing beneath our window. And as I looked up into my wife's now wrinkled face, but still warm and twinkling eyes, I realized something about perfection...
It comes only with time.

The Return of Yours Truly

I'm back!! Yes, I am back from what seemed like a really long break. Truth is, I’ve been back for over 4 weeks and I haven't really been in the mood for updating. Blame it on the heavy schedule. It’s another new semester with lots of excitement to look forward to until deadlines loom. Then it’ll be a whole different story lah.

Holidays were enjoyable and it always is when I’m back at Stan Chart. Sadly, I won’t be returning to Stan Chart anytime soon. Internship will be keeping me busy the end of this semester. I’m going to miss the familiar faces that have been so supportive of a little green horn.

Josephine and I spent our orientation week bringing her brother and cousin sister around KL and Putrajaya. I never knew the job of a tour guide can be very tiring. Even more as we depended solely on public transport to move around. The hassle of being incapable of maneuvering this simple machine called car *sigh*. Something has to be done here.

I now have a new skill. I know how to operate a movie camera!! Video production classes have been such a motivation. The thought of it gets me out of bed in a flash on Monday mornings. Weee…I like Monday mornings now =)

Attended my first Life Club meeting today and I’m already a devotee. The members were welcoming and the one hour meeting was nothing less than a truck load of fun. The talk was enriching and will hopefully help all of us make good decisions in life. Thanks beary much Chrystin! You will surely see me turn up at Life Club again.

Now that I am bone tired from cleaning our HUGE new fridge, its slumber time. ZZzzzzzz….

Tick Tock

Time is ticking away and blogging is the last thing I should be doing. Same goes to facebooking. I'm such a bummer, I know.
With final submission, presentations and final exams approching, stress level is sky high. People running out of patience, yelling at each other, pissing each other off; common scenarios this time of the year. Therefore, a shopping marathon was needed to destress.
Mom was kind enough to let me borrow her credit card to go for the Isetan members' pre-sale and needless to say, she regreted *evil grin*. Bought some outfits for work and prezzies for the May babies; housemate-Chu and bffs- Adah & Sharu.

Its so quiet in the house, which is usually very noisy lah, when all 4 of us are caught up in our web of assignments and deadlines. I've been trying not to whine about having to juggle work and school. Not that there's a lot to nitpick about, in fact I've been having much fun back in the office with movie days, lunch dates and all.
But I kept having this bad feeling that I may not be able to finish up all my assignments for submission. I've been doing my work consistently for the past few weeks, trying as much as possible not to procrastinate, yet the big pile remains. *Freaks out* No, maybe its just the stress getting to my head. I need to find cheaper ways to destress.
Yum cha, anyone?

You couldn't be bothered to set things straight two years ago.
So why bother now?

All the world's a stage.

Today, like every other day some bitch in school started drama of some sort.

Today, like every other day, some bitch in school fanned the fire and made things worse for everyone.

Today like every other day, some annoying bitch was chattering away in lecture and annoyed the crap outta me.

Today like every other day, I was being a bitch clumsy and forgot to print the standard assignment cover for submission.

Therefore, I was late.

Not important.

Because today, I found out a close friend was cheating on his girlfriend with another of our close friend(also a classmate). Ok, no, I did not find out today. I found out a long time ago, but today things kinda got outta hand. I see people hurting themselves and each other. And it’s not pretty.

Emotional infidelity is just as bad as physical infidelity no matter what you say. I felt bad for his girlfriend, having (sorta) been in her position. I’ve never thought it would be ok to date close friends or classmates because if anything goes wrong, you can never look at each other in the face and talk and laugh like you did before and it affects everyone around you; your clan, your tribe, whatever you call your gang.

Anyway, not important.

It’s just not fair, can’t you see? You blind ass! If you’re going to throw your 3 years relationship down the drain like somebody I knew did, I will personally make sure you never make it out of cyberjaya alive. I mean, I won’t have to do it myself, because I know people who would’ve done the same.

Imagine this; his girlfriend is a fair, wide eye, innocent looking, intelligent, very pweety fashionista. Not that I’m saying that our friend is all that bad, but really, guys…they are never content with what they have. Damn. And seriously, learn how not take crushes so seriously ok. You’re not in high school. I just used two seriously in a sentence.
Not important. Moving on…

Now, boys and girls, always draw a line between you and your friends of opposite gender (wait, it doesn’t reli matter now does it?) especially if you’re attached, otherwise, expect to see some teary faces.

Being the stuck-in-the-between-friend, I’m not sure if I should be telling them what to do, despite the fact that we are close. I beg for god to help me to say something right, for just once, let me not say the wrong thing and worsen the situation. And words just came outta me like it was from someone else. Phew!

Anyway, not important.

Not as important as how this whole happening has affected me. I have put my own relationship problems behind for awhile now because I don’t wanna think or talk about it.
It’s just too bitter.

But today, it all came back to me when I saw the whole teary drama between my two friends. It was so surreal; it feels like watching myself arguing with him. My gosh! But no, different case coz he would use other girls around him to get my attention because I had other (insignificant) guys around me and then it lead to something else lah.

Come to think of it, we were a lil foolish to throw it all away because of jealousy and our own insecurities. I can’t do anything to save my own relationship now but I’m trying not to let it happen to a close friend.

Buddy, if you’re reading this, trust me, you don’t wanna make a decision that you will regret for a looooooooooooong long time and yes, I will stop you the next time I catch you doing something naughty!

Not important again.

Because now the sun has set and I’m back in my peaceful room where I am supposed to be studying for the killer paper tomorrow; media planning. But I’m too disturbed by all the drama, I can no longer concentrate.
I need to talk to somebody.

I'm so proud of myself I can't help it =p

This was sitting in my L'oreal hamper =D

Thank yous: To lecturers who worked so hard with us for the past 4 months.
To lecturers who excused us from lectures again and again.
To lecturers who extended our assignment deadlines approching the finals.
To Sonny and Daniel for the last minute touch up and turning up to root for us.
Special thanx to Daniel for the photos too!
To LUCT's camera crew. We want copies!!!!
To L'oreal and EuroRSCG for the experience.
To Win, Jo, Ade and Marisah for all the help, support, dinner, breakfast, lunch, transport etc, etc.
Its finally over, we can sit and concentrate on assignments now.
You guys rock! *hearts hearts*

FYI: The underdogs from UKM (team Les Anges) made national champs.
1st runner up went to IACT's all girls team (OnePoint3).
2nd runner-up went to *ehem* team switch.
Consolation went to USM (Mega Idea) and the other team from IACT (Indigo Child).

I am happy. Weeeeeeeeeeee......
And I may be getting facebook. In order to keep in touch with all these people I have met.
OMG I can't believe I'm saying this, but I may be needing facebook more than i expected. Facebook is overrated!

The power of three

I’m rewarding myself for finishing all assignments by taking 5 minutes to blog. Since my very fulfilling visit to Euro RSCG, one after another assignment and mid term came knocking on my door *faint*. The main reason why a visit to Euro RSCG was arranged by Loreal was to prepare all teams for the national finals- which happens to be 2 weeks away. yikes!

I have learned so much from my first visit to an ad agency although it was a very short one. Even though they were very busy with their regular schedule, everyone was so enthusiastic to help us with our advertising strategy. They even took the trouble to teach us stuffs we didn’t know. They have changed my perception of what I thought ad agencies were supposed to be like. I have heard much from seniors who have returned from their 16 weeks of internship and I didn’t like what I heard. But I like what I saw. A bus load of thanx goes out to Zac, Andrew, Jean and Phoebe for all the help.

My mum was so excited when I told her to expect an invitation to the finals. And we are all allowed to bring some friends. I know just the right bunch to bring. But heck, Not like my team’s ever gonna win, so don’t expect too much ok! And this may (or not) be the last post on Brandstorm because if we don’t make it, I may never wanna talk about it. Ever.

I am supposed to be reading up on consumer behavior for mid-term tomorrow. But I’m feeling awfully restless. I need more sleep but I had to wake up early to wake everyone else up so they would all go study as well. My extremely short span of concentration is not helping in this case. I’ve spent the whole morning working on assignments due tomorrow and the fact that my computer has got its corrupted D drive taken out is annoying me very berry much. My fingers are crossed. I pray that all my files and folders are still quietly sitting in the drive. The importances of the files are beyond measure. Let’s just say my 3 semester’s worth of portfolio is in there along with some stuffs la. *Pray, pray, pray* Why didn’t I make copies of my files? I don’t know. So don’t ask. They say stupidity is a gift.

No time for stupidity now.

A day with EURO RSCG

Unfamiliarly familiar

I was expecting her to call but not so soon. I was working on my CRM paper when my phone rang. Hmm private number. Amy, my line manager from the bank...heh knew it!
The first thing she said was "You should know why I'm calling".
"Yeah" I uttered.
"So when's your next holiday?"
"June"
"Oh so late ar? Care to come back and help me?"
"Sure! When?"
"As soon as possible."
*Gasp* "Why so soon?"
"****************************(some crisis I cannot disclose heh)"
Very, very long pause...and then I blurted
"Oh, actually I have no classes on tuesdays and thursdays, you know."
Smart, now I'm in deep shit.
Then she replied, "So when can you be back?"
"2nd of May" I said.
Don't ask why but somehow I have this feeling that we'll never win at the National Finals and we won't make it to Paris for the International Finals in June.
(If you're from IACT and you're reading this, you can start packing for Paris. But I could be wrong.)
So I told Amy I'll be free by May.

I called my mom later in the evening to tell her I took up a job offer.
"You sure ar? What about Brandstorm? What about your classes?
Then you'll have to travel from Cyber to KL more often."
Oh crap! I forgot the bank is in KL. Too late to change my mind?
"Mummy, dun worry. Brandstorm will be over by end of April.
I'll still go for classes. maybe I can carpool Win lo."
Then again, I haven't ask Win if he's ok with me carpooling. To date, he has yet to say no. Not once. Sometimes, I find it hard to believe how nice he can be.
Somewhere in the background, I can hear my grandma.
"You won't be able to cope with assignments. You'll be exhausted. You'll start failing bla bla bla..."
Tsk tsk my grandma...

At dinner, I told jo.
He said, " You very desperate for money meh?"
"No, but I don't mind earning a bit of money for other purposes la."
"Like what?"
"Shopping."
*Speechless* I don't shop much. I just didn't want him to say anything more.

I don't believe these people. They're suppose to be supportive friends and family. This has got something to do with my occasional-dependent-and-clumsy self.
But hey, I have yet to score anything less than a B since semester 1. Hmm..I have got to prove these people wrong. So wrong.
The only person happy to hear of my return was H. I'm sure they didn't expect me to be back so soon. So much to look forward to. I suddenly feel very, very motivated to complete everything on my to-do list =)

They annoy me
*points below*

Everything under the sun at this point in time.
I only need something called the Idea. If you've seen it somewhere let me know.

Picking up the pace

My brain is still stuck in holiday mood. And so is my body. Serious unproductiveness. The pile of assignment is building up and I'm just staring at it hoping that it'll dissolve away. I didn't have a choice but to pick up the one with a closer due date- tomorrow. 2 pending tutorial assignments for strategic advertising. Q: Discuss why communication is a key factor in effective advertising. How many times do they have to throw this question at us? Its probably a standard question we get every beginning of the semester in order for our brains to switch to advertising mode zzzz.
I dread brandstorm meetings. I don't hate them. I'm just afraid to go for meetings knowing that finals is approaching and I have not been contributing enough. I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree. I can't come up with anything even with all the mulling. Where is creativity when I need it the most? I don't remember signing up for this much of anxiety.
I heart classes tho. My classmates are the only ones keeping me sane these days.
I'm still alive.

Once in a while...

Cobwebs are really building up in here. Each time I sit down to blog I am bound to be interrupted by something. An email flagged highly important, an anonymous phone call or someone at the door.
Both my Vietnamese housemates have decided to move to somewhere nearer to the city centre leaving two rooms vacant. The house has become immensely quiet for the past weeks. Fortunately, new housemates will be turning up real soon, and I’m esthetic about Josephine moving in.
We spent the whole evening furniture shopping which I believe is the reason behind my backache. Speaking of which, Win & Jo thank you guys so very much for chauffeuring and helping us out. At the moment, I’m too tired to even make myself Milo despite my grumbling tummy. As a result; this piece of crap you’re staring at now.

My 5 ringgit ikea bear on my new pink table =)

It’s been 3 weeks since the semester started. We’ve been having too much fun with new students on board. That’s until assignments and due dates hit us like a wave large enough to drown KL. Its week 3 now and submission is supposed to be on week 6? There I go whining like a baby again. Truth is, I don’t whine a lot (yeah, right). Its time to have me eyes glued on the monitor again.
In spite of the amount of work, I am looking forward to the next activity on Brandstorm’s schedule; the meeting with advertising agency. Can’t wait! The thought of finals coming up in 40 days really put butterflies in my stomach. Go team Switch! =p

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways , but narrower viewpoints.
We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.
We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

I'm back!!
Happy New Year y’all!! I’m back from my semester break. It was a tremendously long break, also a very eventful one. The big pile up of occasions has been keeping me (very, very) busy. There was work, brandstorm, party, more work, more brandstorm and more party putting an abrupt end to 2007. I barely had time to cross out the days on my calendar and it was already 2008. It’ll be mind-numbing if I had to untangle everything and put them into string of words (which I can’t, really).

2008 started superbly when the team was called to present at L’oreal Brandstorm in Jan, and then made it to the national finals aaah…a huge sense of accomplishment. The team’s effort and labour has all been worth it. Tons of people to thank for cheering us on. The treacherous journey has in fact just begun now that we have to work twice as hard for the final which is schedule to be in April. In the meantime, there are classes and other stuffs to juggle also a bad lineup of lecturers to put up with. As for now, I’m gonna hit the sack. First day at uni can be very tiring with all the catching ups.
Brandstomers made news:
